The buzz: A cupcake café from the people behind the Pandora cupcake kiosk at The Emporium, cousins Pookie and Pomme.
The decor: Bright and simple. This tiny café only has three glass-top tables, a small white counter and a cake display showcasing the fresh daily offerings. If weather permits, grab one of the outdoor tables.
The fare: Cupcakes are the main attraction with Dugong producing almost 30 different cake varieties daily. Among the best-selling crowd-pleasers are Red Velvet, a moist red cocoa cake with rich cream cheese frosting, and the luscious Dutch Chocolate with its gooey chocolate fudge topping. The Double Cheesecake also lives up to its name with thick cheesecake topped with cream cheese frostings. Here, the cake flour is made with zero butter and the whipped cream with no sugar, so you can feel a little less guilty about sampling their sweet treats. Delivery is also available if you don’t fancy hiking all the way out there.
The drink: A small selection of coffee and tea is on offer.
The crowd: A good mix of university students, office workers in the neighborhood and health-conscious customers who drop by after their trip to the Lemon Farm organic market and the gym, both located in the same complex.
