Ekkamai is starting to heat up again thanks to some interesting new bars.
The first of a slew of openings is restaurant and bar Hugo which is trying to draw in the crowds with inventive takes on Western comfort dishes like duck confit (B400), creamy pasta with tiger prawn (B425) and burgers (B375).
Located in a retro house, the interior nods at 1920s-style gentleman’s club, with leather couches throughout. There’s also outdoor seating.
Cocktails start from B200, while they also offer up Italian craft beers such as L’Olmaia (B620 for 720 ml).
