The buzz: TenTen, the new all-in-one hotspot for women, combines a nail and hair salon, pilates studio and restaurant (Margo). The vibe is definitely more working girls (the exec kind!) than ladies-who-lunch, though.
The décor: An ultra-feminine velvety, purple softness. The Moroccan theme provides graceful curves while the room’s cozy narrowness is offset by a high ceiling.
The cuisine: Cindy Pamon-Montri first launched Margo at CentralWorld before moving to TenTen. The concept remains healthy cuisine for busy people who want something fresh that won’t make them go up a dress size. It’s a very standard menu—we call it unpretentious Bangkok bistro food: salads, sandwiches and pastas. Here and there, you’ll find exotic touches. The tuna sandwich has red chili, coriander and almonds. The Caesar Salad is made with teriyaki kitchen. And the beef Bourguignon gets a handful of Asian spices along with a dash of sake. Margo also places a strong emphasis on its tea time, when you can nibble on whole wheat treats like the scone set or pancake (with strawberry and blackberry coulis).
The booze: Ten wines and plenty of smoothies, coffees (made with Lavazza) and freshly squeezed juices.
The crowd: This is Emporium country (Margo is right across from Benjasiri Park). Expect affluent women and, occasionally, their slightly intimidated boyfriends.
