The Place: Along the way to Phayolyothin Road from Victory Monument, before Phaholyothin Soi 1, you will hit Talad Sanam Pao. By the sidewalk, there is a pushcart which is run by a kindly auntie, Jae Kheng, who has been serving tasteful pork satay for more than 20 years. She is known in the neighborhood for the secret recipe she got from her ancestors.
Selection: Pork satay is piece and baked bread is piece. They come with free arjad (sliced cucumber, chili and red onion in vinaigrette) and curry sauce. The satay is tender and moist while her curry dip has just the right sweetness and spiciness.
Must-Haves: There’s only one dish, but for perfect balance order seven pieces with one piece of baked bread and free sauces.
Where and When: Look for the fruit grocer located before Sanam Pao Market’s entrance on Phaholyothin Road. The pushcart is opposite the grocer. 08-9009-5715.
