The Buzz: Zood Noodle is the latest addition to the ever-growing range of eateries on CentralWorld’s Heaven on Seven. Barely one month old, this premium beef and pork noodle house is the brainchild of Ploypan Srisa-an, who brings hungry shoppers her family’s noodle recipes with an upscale twist. While branded a noodle shop, the restaurant also serves an array of single dishes.
The décor: Located in a foodie enclave, Zood Noodle still manages to stand out with its whimsical, retro chic décor, partitioned by a display of cutesy old toys and a wooden fence.
The cuisine: Predominantly Thai with international touches from places like Japan and America. For starters, you can try the Zood fries or the healthier choice of seaweed noodle salad. The house specialty is wagyu beef with seaweed noodles and orinji mushroom, but it’s more affordable with kurobuta pork. A choice of noodle, soup (thick, clear or without) and meat can be ordered for most noodle dishes. The health conscious can pay extra for carb-free seaweed noodles. You can also grab a bag of pork crackling chips or tempura seaweed to go with your meal. If you’re really hungry, try the fulfilling hayashi beef stew with rice and soft-boiled egg. In keeping with the nostalgic theme, the desserts include Thai-style coconut milk ice cream (BTK).
The drinks: Rocket soda, a Thai-style carbonated drink, comes in ten different flavors.
The crowd: Mall customers and office workers.
